5 (di Prima, Diane) Poster for a NYC production of di Prima's play, Whale Honey
New York Theater for the New City Broadside 
Single leaf poster, 11 x 14", advertising a April 29-May 16 production of di Prima's Whale Honey at the Theater for the New City (founded in 1971). Di Prima was in the cast, along with John McDowell and Charles Stanley. Also credited are John R. Dodd and George Herms. The poster was used as a mailing piece, and one third of the verso has return address and postage permit information. Folded twice for mailing, otherwise fine. Di Prima lived in New York well before she emigrated to San Francisco, so this performance might well have preceded the San Francisco production performed in August of 1975 at the Intersection Theatre.
