Wraps, bi-lingual Danish & English museum catalog, color photographs and art work; fine copy. The museum is housed in a location that 400 years ago hosted an inn for travelers. It had a colorful history, and it passed into the hands of the Dinesen family in 1879. In 1898, several wings were destroyed by fire and never rebuilt. Isak lived in the house for many years, including her visits to the house during the 16 years she had the farm in Africa. The Dinesen family made a gift of the house to the general public in 1958. Restoration of the house was expensive and when Blixen died in 1962, it was greatly in debt. It was rescued by the great popularity of the film, Out of Africa, and monies earned by the estate was enough to ultimately establish the museum. Along with the history of the building, two essays describe the museum and its contents. Every Blixen fan should have a copy of this catalog.; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 44 pp
