By: Dali, Salvador

Price: $350.00

Quantity: 1 available

Stiff card, very good with corner creasing and some signs of wear, some soiling on rear wrap upper corners. The front cover reproduces the painting, "The Sphere Attacks the Pyramid," within which appears a small representation of one of Dali's favorite motifs, the "debris of an automobile giving birth to a blind horse biting a clock." Many other Dalinian motifs appear scattered across the bottom of the painting. The text of the catalog is printed in purple, beginning with the essay on p. 2, "Dali, Dali!" by Dali himself. What makes this catalog so unique are the six translucent tan overlays--pictured in purple ink surrounding the overlays--each of which is drawn in red ink. Below the overlays is a black and white painting representing the sum total of all the overlays taken together. The overlays are held in place by three staples at the right edge of p. 3. Page 4 contains tributes by Picasso, Breton, and others + a numbered list of 26 works of art in the exhibition. A work of art itself.; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 4 pp
